Lessons Learned

The test of true forgiveness is not just praying for your enemy, but it’s reframing from getting angry with God when He answers your prayer

So many times I have heard it said and even read how we as adults, young adults, and teenagers must grab onto the beauty of childlike faith. I always loved the expression because it reminded me to believe as a child does: for example, when you are little you believe you can be anything you want to be! From a Rockstar to the President of the United States. What you want to be, can change every day, but everyday you seem to believe in yourself more!
Recently as I have been spending a lot of time around children I’ve understood this saying so much more!
A week ago I picked an 8year old girl up from school. We started to talk about how the world came to be, and as any child would she had a million questions. This conversation led to us talking about God. As she pondered the thought that God was everywhere (omnipresent) she began to point at kids walking by and asked me each time: “so that means Jesus is her, and him, and him”…I laughed at first at the purity of her question but then paused with what my response would be to her. I then began to tell her- you know what..Jesus could be living inside of her AND him,AND him, as I pointed at the same kids walking by. Now this simple example of what this small girl showed me was so big in my eyes.I realized that as a child, I should see Jesus in everyone! What if Jesus was dwelling in the person who passed you by (as weird and bizarre as it sounds).. what if.As Christians we have heard it said as “Jesus lives in my heart”…He “lives and dwells within you”… Or you are “Gods child”…Either way the question is do you treat EVERY person with the “what if” attitude.Do I treat everyone as if it was Jesus himself or a child of God walking by!Another example of childlike faith is a small boy that is 4 years old and (somehow) has an incredible God conscious.How? Only God knows! The important thing is that He loves Jesus, worships him and believes that God is “sooo big”. Recently me, his mom,and the 4 year old attended church together for the first time. We attended a very large church full of many people… As we sat down in are seats, more towards the back with a view of the large crowd in front of us, the 4 year old looked at his mom and said “God is bigger then all of the people in this room”… Wow. So simple yet somehow brought me back to such a huge reality of God. It didn’t matter how many people were stuffed in one room- God is bigger. His love, His faithfulness, His mercy and grace… Expanding to the very edges of earth and beyond the limits of the sky. Funny how we get stuck on the small worries and can be declined backwards because of a simple mistake- yet as a child thinks “God is big”. These are only two things I have learned from mere children…
These lessons have brought me to the question.. How do we forget? Why is it as children, life is so full of color yet with age it can grow so dim. Is it the harsh realities that weigh us with worry, is it the past and future failures that shame us with guilt, is it fear of man and what people think about us? What is it that shelters us from the world wide life of destiny, adventure, imagination and the creativity that God created for us.
Maybe it’s just trying to hard to understand it all. The desire for wisdom is a great desire- but the gripping for understanding I believe is what leads us to dark corners. Proverbs 3:5 says to TRUST in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding.. again this concept brings be back to a child.
I’ve never met a 5 year old that has anxiety on weather or not the driver of the car they are riding in knows what their doing. The child buckles up sits back and enjoys the ride, Or if bored enjoys the adventure they can make it into- drawing, looking out the window, or even watching a video on a car dvd screen. Point is they trust the driver. the question is do you trust God? Maybe so, but do you know how to just be you?! If not start today!
If you have ever been around any kind of child it’s in plain sight that they are not perfect. They pee the bed sometimes, throw tantrums in the middle of a public restaurant or grocery store. Shout from the roof tops no matter who is around..They have no shame! The point of being childlike is NOT being perfect, it’s just being YOU! Doesn’t matter the number of your age, or current career, its living life with passion, adventure, joy, and true faith. Taking God at his word! If you dont know who you are, or even what it is to have faith and trust in God- then be excited to take a sober adventure to figure it out- laugh, dream, and believe. I leave you with this video…. The 4 year old boy I talked about earlier, playing guitar, and singing his own made up song about Jesus! :) (video is bad quality and shaky.. But just shows if you listen his Song about God)

Proverbs 3:5
says to TRUST in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding..

Romans 8:15-17
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ” Abba , Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Mark 10:15
and I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom like a child will never enter it.

Matthew 18:4
Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

A word stamped on 2012…

There is a word stirring in the hearts of me and my Ammunition/WorthDyingFor family. It’s a word that symbolizes the very character that knitted us together by the hands of our Christ. It’s not a principle of pride rather a shout of humility. A desperate plead of strength that declares without you God I am weak. This word does not unfold in the picture perfect scenery of glam and the traditional glean of greed and power, but it is actually represented in the glory of sacrifice. The kind of sacrifice it takes for love to live on. This word is powerful,not because it represents a hard exterior but because it is wrapped in mere human,weak,brittle,imperfection- BUT WILLING to stand with courage, even when filled with fear. To grip onto faith and defeat failure as it shouts from the roof tops. This word that stirs in my heart and my fellow family/team mates hearts is the word FEARLESS. I believe that past the years of pain,regret,loss,victory,challenges,that this year will be a year of FEARLESS.

FEARLESS. [Fear-Less]
Origin:Old English
Definition: To boldly continue in the face of fear, to have faith. To feel fear but to take refuge in your inner courage. To believe when no one else will.
Antonyms: Fear, Coward.

I invite you to join this journey of being fearless in 2012. That this year will be a year that you stop waiting for the “feeling of fear” to leave you and that you would stand with fear-fearless, faithful, and courageous.

I am excited to announce that 2012 ,are team led by Pastor Jeremy and Christy Johnson are hosting Ammunition Conference in Modesto Ca and soon after beginning a church plant in Los Angeles Ca. :)

I am currently living in Laguna Beach and looking forward to my dreams unfolding.. Dreams to see ministry across the nations, Dreams in the entertainment industry, Dreams way bigger and better then I could ever imagine.I Love
You all! I have taken a long break on writing and blogging but
Hope to begin writing more soon. Xo

Fearless

“When I awake, I am still with you.”

You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you. (Psalm 139:1-18 NIV)

We make a thousand choices each day- but the ONE choice that God is concerned about is the choice to love Him back. When you make THAT one choice, every other descion will fall perfectly into place. Trust that at His will He just wants you. Wherever you are at in life, deciding on a college to attend, a job to work at, a move, or career in business, entertainment, ministry, maybe your even in highschool and you are choosing friends, a lifestyle- Always remember that God cares about every detail of your life, but the choice that matters most is the choice he gave you to love Him back. Once you make that choice today all your other decisions and worries will work themselves out. Perfect love cast out all fear- and creates the stairway to your destiny. Don’t just put your toes into the pool today, Jump in head first, experience life, have fun, live, and Don’t forget to LOVE.

Jesus took your place- So that you could live in His palace… Why then do you still live as a peasant slaving in the fields?

It is so easy to get in to the routeen of things- striving, surviving, and getting by life as a worker. But God has not only called us to labor in the fields He has called us to live in the kingdom.

Thinking on this thought I realized that more christians live as peasants then heirs to the throne. Peasants are near God- they can hear God, maybe even see God.. they work for God and are obedient to His commandments, yet they never enter into the throne room of God, encountering His real love, peace, joy, patience, self control, gentleness, Kindness and goodness never understanding what it is to work WITH God.

 We must realize that even though God loves a generation… He loves you

Do not forget to enter into His kingdom.. God has not called you to work for Him, but he has commanded that you would work with Him, that in your weakness he would be strong.

Lay down the peasant of your past and embrace a kingdom mindset today.

“The Spirit  himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his suffering in order that we may also share in his glory. (-ROMANS 8:16-17)

“I want the blessing but don’t bother me.”

Recently I spoke at an event near San Francisco Ca. Me in heels (big mistake in SF) decided to spend my break walking threw the city to people watch and look around. As I was walking, enjoying the sight and all the varieties of people I noticed a women, possibly in her 40’s walking with two crutches connected to her elbows. A man in a suit was helping her walk as the expression on her face looked painful and miserable. As I watched this women try to make it to her vehicle compassion came over my heart and I knew that I needed to ask her for prayer. I walked over to the man and women introducing myself and said:

” I believe that God can Heal, may i pray for you…”

The women glared back me with her pain filled eyes and responded..

” You can pray, but i do not want to be involved.”

I paused for a moment so confused at this response and then replied with a smile..

” I will pray for you, have a blessed day.”

I walked away still so confused. What did she mean she didn’t want to be involved? She wanted the healing but didn’t have interest in how the healing would happen. This thought consumed me. As I sat and pondered this experience God began to reveal to me a great truth. A truth that so many of us are just like this woman.

We treat God like our sugar daddy- we want the blessing but dont want to be bothered with getting involved.We want the healing, we want God to give to us. We shout from the roof tops are desires,and we ask God why. Yet we do not want to do what God has asked us:   to spend time with Him.

God is generous,gracious,merciful, and giving, so many times He will answer.. But He never stops waiting. Waiting for us to answer Him.

This truth is not to make you feel guilty, or condemned- but it is to encourage you. It is time that we get involved with God again. Weather that is being obedient, tithing, or spending time with him in prayer. The moment that we get involved religion stops, and relationship, passion, and life begin.

It starts with you

“Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10)

That’s LOVE.
